Incline adjustment: +0.15 MET per 1% grade
Calories = adjusted MET × Weight(kg) × Duration(hrs)

Frequently Asked Questions

Does treadmill incline really make that much difference?
Yes — a 10% incline roughly doubles the calorie burn compared to flat walking at the same speed. Even 2–3% incline adds 10–15% more calories and is much more realistic to outdoor walking.
How accurate is the treadmill's calorie display?
Most treadmill displays overestimate by 15–25%. They typically use simplified formulas that don't account for your actual body weight or fitness level. This calculator is more accurate when you enter your weight.
